Readycall Macmillan provide support to people aged 60 and over, living in the Derbyshire Dales. Support is available for people who are or have been affected by cancer or other life limiting conditions and those who care for them.
Assisted by trained volunteers, we provide befriending, shopping, practical support and subsidised transport for cancer related medical appointments.
How our Readycall volunteers can help you
Readycall volunteers could pop in for a chat and a cuppa, providing companionship and support.
Readycall volunteers can help with the shopping – assisting you to do the shopping or doing the shopping for you from a list.
Readycall volunteers could walk your dog whilst you are unwell or unable to get out.
Readycall volunteers could take you out and about – a visit to the garden centre or a favourite café.
Mrs E has weekly support from a volunteer and says:
“It's made a vast difference, she’s so bright and helps to inspire me to keep going. She’s wonderful company, I so enjoy her coming”
Mrs H has visits at home and says:
“My week would be very dull without the visits. 12 months ago I was in the doldrums, now I have Readycall. It has made a great difference and a very positive one”
